England batsman Joe Root's century guided his side to 309 for six, batting first in their Cricket World Cup match against Sri Lanka in Wellington. So to win, Sri Lanka will need 310 in their innings, which is a little bit more than six runs an over. Root hit 121, while the wickets were shared amongst the Sri Lankan bowlers. Spinner Rangana Herath possibly has a broken finger after being struck by a ball hit hard by England's Joss Buttler. He is currently undergoing an X-ray xamination to assess the actual damage to his fingers. Herath's finger was bleeding and he went straight off the field. (www.radionz.co.nz)
